The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek begins with a scenic drive to Syaphrubesi before entering the forests and river valleys of Langtang National Park.

The trail climbs through Lama Hotel and Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa, where monasteries, yak pastures, cheese-making traditions, and mountain views create a powerful high-valley atmosphere.

DETAILED ITINERARY Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

 A Trek O'Clock representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport. After airport formalities, transfer to your hotel. Relax, recover from your flight, and prepare for the journey ahead. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Drive to Syaphrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley. The road is mostly in good condition, although some sections are bumpy. Pass through towns and terraced farmlands, admiring the scenic ranges. Get a spectacular view of the Langtang ranges. At Dhunche, show your permits for registration to enter the Langtang National Park.

Then, continue to ride and check in at a lodge after arriving at Syaphrubesi.

Pass through verdant forests of rhododendron and oak, following the ascents and descents. Cross the bridge over the Langtang Khola. Then climb on a steep trail that leads to the Lama Hotel. Get treated by the stunning views of Langtang Lirung in the backdrop. Overnight at a mountain lodge.

Enjoying the picturesque landscapes, climb the ascending trail leading to Ghoda Tabela. There are a few settlements while the trail keeps gradually ascending. The snow-covered mountains in the surroundings captivate you. Come across numerous Chortens decorated with prayer flags.

Continue to trek and finally reach the lovely Langtang village for an overnight stay.

Follow the trail passing through small settlements and terraced farmlands. Come across several streams, prayer wheels, stupas, and chortens before arriving at Kyanjin. The largest Mani wall en route is fascinating. Have lunch and take some rest. Later, visit the 7th-century Kyanjin Gompa and interact with monks.

Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and spend a night at the lodge.

The acclimatization day is best utilized by taking an adventurous hike to Tsergo Ri. Climb slowly on an ascending trail that might be slightly demanding. You must be physically fit to ascend this trek. Upon reaching the summit, get rewarded by the splendid views of 20 peaks and the beautiful Langtang Valley.

Take pictures, spend some time, and slowly descend to Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight at a mountain lodge.

Follow the trail back to Lama Hotel on a descending trail, enjoying the surrounding views. Cross several bridges and pass through Langtang village and Ghode Tabela. Enjoy walking through the forested trails and finally arrive at the Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.

Walk on an ascending trail towards the Rimche village. From there, descend to the Langtang Khola riverbank. Passing through a forested trail on an ascending and descending trail, cross the bridge. Follow the trail leading to the Pahare Hotel and traverse a waterfall walk for a few hours.

Arrive at Thulo Syaphru for an overnight stay.

Walk crossing Dursagang, then ascend to Foprang Danda, admiring the beautiful landscapes. Witness the spectacular vistas of the Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Tibetan Mountains. Pass through the forests of oak, hemlock, and fir in the vicinity of the National Park. Arrive at Sing Gompa for an overnight stay.

Walk gradually on an ascending trail that is narrow and rocky. A ridge is followed for the majority of the day, revealing a glimpse of the first of the sacred lakes. Gosaikunda, the holy lake, holds immense religious and cultural significance for the Nepalese. It is one of Nepal’s most coveted pilgrimage destinations.

This lake, encircled by mountains on nearly all sides, features a remarkable ensemble of nine additional lakes. The trek offers wonderful panoramic vistas of the Himalayas, including the Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang. Overnight at a mountain lodge.

After breakfast, take a gradual ascent towards Lauribina Pass at an elevation of 4,610 m. Walk slowly on your own pace as crossing the pass is slightly challenging. The surrounding vistas from the pass are astonishing. Enjoying the views, descend to Phedi.

Pass through the fascinating Surya Kunda Lake and then descend to Ghopte. Overnight at a mountain lodge.

Walk on a descending trail along the forested trails of pine, ferns, and bamboo. Admire the stunning views of Dorje Lhakpa and Shisapangma peaks. Cross Magin Goth and follow the trail leading to the beautiful village of Khutumsang. Overnight at a mountain lodge.

Admiring the splendid scenery while descending and ascending the trail, arrive at Thodung. Get treated by the impressive views of Jugal, Ganesh, and other surrounding peaks. An uphill climb to Chisapani is slightly tiring, but becomes more pleasant due to the mesmerizing natural beauty. Overnight at a mountain lodge.

Pass through the forested trail and descend to Mulkharka. Walk on stone stairs, enjoying the scenery. Keep on walking downhill until you reach the Shivapuri Nagarjuna National Park.

Get entered into the park, passing diverse flora and encountering some wild animals, and arrive at Sundarijal. Return to Kathmandu, enjoying the surroundings, and get transferred to the hotel for rest. Join us in the evening for a farewell dinner. Enjoy the last night in Kathmandu at an authentic Nepali restaurant or meals of preference.
